My own first touch with magic was healing, literally reading an NLP script and watching it work. It made an opening and hunger for more that still drives me 20 years later. And the sense that it is not something to turn on like a switch, that there is Grace that has its own cycles and seasons. The symbols too, I pray with the ogam letters, tracing them on my chest often fearn for protection, lus for light, nGetal for healing, dur for strength, pin to remember the sweetness of life, coll for wisdom and so on. It is so very much like your putting a hand on heart. I get hand sensations too, but since most everything I do is remote prayer and remote healing, I get the additional sensation of my arms and hands being drawn forward and then connecting with the conduit flow. Thanks so much for this.

DavidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-81965208848080825662009-07-09T11:36:21.664-04:002009-07-09T11:36:21.664-04:00Cat,

The bishop comes up behind and does some mystic symbols (crosses)on the person's head, comes around front, puts the symbols in his hands and head again, goes back and put them in his crown and closes up his energy field (Spirit). You know that the Holy Spirit has taken because the new priests hands get hot and he can heal people. Sound familiar? ;-)

Yours in Renegade Reiki,

KirkKirk Whitenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-71181615452491101892009-07-08T21:55:16.425-04:002009-07-08T21:55:16.425-04:00I loved reading about your Reiki esperiences. I felt like I had been cleaned out and filled up over the brim with energy, and I wanted to run around the campsite squealing. I settled for lying face down and pushing as much of it as I could into the Earth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-42814653430645982692009-07-08T01:28:28.949-04:002009-07-08T01:28:28.949-04:00There's so much here that I resonate with - my...There's so much here that I resonate with - my experience with Healing Touch (a workshop taken at FGC) was similar, in that I couldn't deny the heat and tingling, and the times when someone I was practicing on could report feeling what I was also sensing about them . . . and the hand / heart / holding in Light connection - similar to how I image sending healing when I sense suffering in Meeting. You are so marvelously eloquent about this essentially wordless inner terrain - thank you!Mary Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06476814211173076515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-11713380874702174582009-07-07T14:30:04.814-04:002009-07-07T14:30:04.814-04:00Hi there,

I have found myself doing such salute for as long as I can remember, honestly I think it started in highschool in the 80's and grew organically fm me especially when I have no words. Then it felt affirmed after a span of time in Japan where all greetings include at least a slight bow. Then more affirmed as I ventured into yoga, namaste and all, and even more affirmed when people started doing it back to me, and at times initiating it to me, in that it pointed out I wasn't alone. In fact, in sacred circle dancing I learned that hand on heart would close a hanging (indentation if you will, lol!) line and keep the energy (metaphorical or metaphysical) held. And in Reiki too don't we initiate the flow with a bringing of hands to heart?

I think the natural way of our hearts and hands coming together is just an internal human trait. The gesture is organic. And the fact that the "new age" wants to co-op it is a pleasant sign of cross communication.

Love and Light,

AnneAnne Flahertynoreply@blogger.com
