One of the things that made me so sad when we embarked on this itinerant phase of our life was leaving the landscape of my heart, where I know the Goddess. I'd met Her in other landscapes I'd visited, but it was somehow still another metaphor...

Meeting Lake Michigan, and spending a little time with Her, was very powerful.

Living in the Puget Sound area, with mountains, trees, and water -- and those specific mountains, trees, and water -- was pretty amazing.

Now I'm back in the kind of landscape where I grew up, where the Goddess first spoke to me, and I haven't quite readjusted and relaxed back into yet. It definitely speaks to me differently than any other landscape, even others which I love. :)Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05201286586062722169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-45642850394998118132009-09-18T12:46:41.696-04:002009-09-18T12:46:41.696-04:00"I'm not much of a monotheist. And interested that there is so much synchronicity going on just now. I know when there's that kind of thread running through vocal ministry in my Quaker meeting, we're inclined to think perhaps it means it was a "gathered" meeting--one particularly led by Spirit, guiding us all gently to a similar place.

*sigh*

I do find myself wishing I'd been at that local bar with you guys, Ali, Jeff. It sounds to have been a wonderful, rich conversation. All the water in the world is water, it's ALL water, and yet there are lakes and streams and oceans and rivers, each of which are very different and undeniably real things in and of themselves. Is there one water or many waters? A senseless question.

Come to think of it, I should have mentioned this to Ray...Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16358942133639236705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25987874.post-70338000808104823812009-09-13T20:30:32.374-04:002009-09-13T20:30:32.374-04:00Speaking of synchronicity! :) Jeff and I just spen...Speaking of synchronicity! :) Jeff and I just spent several hours with our friend, Raymond, discussing monotheism, polytheism, animism and personal experiences of divinity in the local bar (true Druid fashion ;). I've forwarded this post (which is lovely, btw!) to Ray, as you say so eloquently some things that I have only been able to guess at so far. I think I'm still working through the "gods feel like imaginary friends I don't quite believe in" stage.... wondering if I'm missing out on something and trying to open up to new possibilities.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01738190874181111086noreply@blogger.com
